Introduction of Prof.Hong Minghui:
Prof. Hong Minghui is a well-known scholar and leader in laser optics. He has been long engaging in the research oflaser nano-micro processing and detection technology, and taken the world-leading research work in fields oflaser microfabrication,laser cleaning,laser beam welding, andoptical inspection. He graduated from the Department of Physics, Xiamen University with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, and obtained a Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore in 2000. He is now director, tenured full professor, and doctoral supervisor of the Optical Science and Engineering Center of the National University of Singapore. Prof. Hong is the Fellow of the Academy of Engineering, Singapore (SAEng),Fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA), Fellow of theInternational Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE), Fellow of theInternational Academy of Photonics and Laser Engineering (IAPLE), andSenior Member of theInstitution of Engineers Singapore (IES). He has published over 400 scientific papers in international leading academic journals such asChemical Reviews,Nature,Nature Nanotechnology(also featured in journal front page),Nature Photonics(research highlight),Nature Communications,Nano Letters,Advanced MaterialsandACS Nano. He has 42 patents in America, Germany, and Singapore, among which 24 have been authorized withinvention and 2 have been industrialized. Prof. Hong is Executive Chief Editor of Opto-Electronic Advances, and Editorial Board Member of international periodicals such asLight:Science and Applications,Scientific Reports,Journal of Laser Micro/nanoengineering, andScience China: G. Prof. Hong has won the ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Awards, IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards, and the Ministry of Education (MOE) Education Service Awards. Professor Hong is also Chairman of the Singapore Optical Technology Co., Ltd.
